The equestrian community is just that - people with a great deal in common. We can "talk horse" endlessly about the joys, serious study, frustrations, discovery, hilarity, triumph, and that terrible pain when the time comes to say goodbye to our equine friends.

Here are some comments CHF has heard around the stable yard. Occasionally, too, a photo will attest to our animals' enjoyment of the farms we buy. If you want to add a comment or photo with caption, CHF would like to hear from you.

How to ride a perfect circle
Approach with good forward motion. Half halt instantly followed by inside rein aid. Continue on circle with inside leg on girth, outside leg behind girth, outside rein against bend of neck. Maintain good forward motion. At first quarter of circle, repeat half halt and inside rein aid. Repeat twice more at half and three-quarter points on circle.

A few weeks before the show, add cider vinegar to his water pail. Carry your trusty cider vinegar with you to the show.
